Astro Tour for Novices
The Astro Tour offered by Rooisand Desert Ranch is a guided tour which introduces astronomy beginners to the basics of stargazing. It starts off with the drive from the lodge through the planet trails, followed by a theoretical introduction at the observatory. The highlight is the visit to the observatory with one of the world’s best amateur telescopes.

Observatory Rental
The accomplished amateur astronomer has the opportunity to rent the whole observatory exclusively for private use. Sound technical knowledge of the equipment is a prerequisite.
The Mountain Chalet is situated next to the observatory and offers the required solitude needed after a night of stargazing. The chalet is fully equipped for self-catering, but guests are of course welcome to enjoy meals at the farm house only 2.5 km away.

Close the the observatory is the Mountain Chalet. It is fully equipped and comfortably furnished for a maximum of 4 self-caterers and offers 2 double rooms with en-suite bathrooms, a big living area including a verandah as well as a balcony. Maximum 4 persons and ninimum 2 nights
